uppdatering2014-05-13 We have learned alot about Kenya the past few weeks. We saw a play with people from Kenya and met the cast to talk to them the day after the play. We have seen films about Kenya and now we are writing about Kenya, comparing it to Sweden and other countries and finding pictures to go with our text. We are making books in Book creator or movies in iMovie. If you are not in class, make sure you do the following:
1. Write down facts about Kenya in pages 2. Write down comparisons between Kenya and Sweden in pages. 3. Find pictures for your work through ccsearch. Write down the name of the website, the source of the picture. 4. Put all of this work into iMovie or Book creator. Make sure all your writing is NOT in there, at least half of your text you record orally. Make sure you put the sources on the last page of your book or movie Sources: ”Det här är mitt land: Kenya” (2005) ”Glue Kids of Kenya” (2011) link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1NDwi5tsxY Deadline is on Thursday May 22. 2014-03-11 we have started watching Bully - we have seen 25 minutes of the film. (See it at home if you missed it).
Tomorrow (Wednesday) everyone has English with their class, with Hadi (in the computer room) or Kicki (in my room). You work with your text. Or, if you are with Hadi, you work with listening comprehension. Next Thursday you are back with your classes again, but with Mirro and Sofia, and you work on your text, or a text about Bully. 2014-0212 what do you have to do in order to get a grade in English?
Every one is now working on different things from the criteria. With the book Crow Girl as base.

We are now reading the book Crow Girl. The pupils are also asked to do oral presentations about what they have been reading.
The Hunger Games are placed in a future USA. The country is now called Panem. Panem is divided into 12 districts. Katniss, the main character lives in district 12. Every year, district one – the capital city – arranges the Hunger
games, where one girl and one boy, between 12 and 18 years old, are put in a game to kill each other. This is to remind them not to go against district one. We have read about how USA was formed by different colonies, and how America, in the end, got its Independence and their first united President, George Washington (page 60 in First Time - text book).
This is a clip from the movie "Rabbit Proof Fence". We have watched the movie and talked about it. We have compared how children in Australia, after being colonized by the Brittish, are forced by the Brittish to speak English and learn about Christianity, to our own life in Sweden and the fact that children are forced to go to school, speak Swedish and English, and learn about religions.
Is there a difference? |
